Kurtis Marlow, RMT
Kurtis (he/him) graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough in 2002 and has taken his active lifestyle and injected that into his practice. Over the past 19 years he has worked in a variety of settings from Retirement Homes, a Chiropractic Clinic, and in multi-therapist Massage Therapy Clinics. These experiences have allowed him to treat and rehabilitate clients at all stages of life and activity levels from young children to elite athletes and Olympians. This variety of experience has helped shape his movement centered approach to treatment and his focus on promoting proper mobility and stability for each of his clients. Understanding the specific demands in each client’s life and/or sport is the focal point of treatment in an effort to improve overall performance.
With his experience working as the Massage Therapist for the Queen’s University Cross Country & Track teams and the Physi-Kult Running Club, Kurtis understands what it means to work with an athlete’s body during training and competition. His knowledge of treating sports injuries and his rapport and communication with these athletes and coaches is the main reason he is trusted by so many elite level athletes and coaches in the city. Having been a Massage Therapist at multiple Beach Volleyball National Championships and the Canadian Cross Country Championships as well as his continued support of many local university and youth runners, swimmers, rowers, hockey, football and soccer players, Kurtis certainly has the passion and experience needed to provide high quality therapy to Kingston’s active community.
Since graduating in 2002, Kurtis has continued to build upon the core competencies that he learned early on as a Massage Therapist by taking many additional certification courses.
His additional qualifications include:
Multiple Sports Massage Therapy courses
Trained in Active Release Technique (ART)
Certified Dynamic Tape Practitioner
Certified Myofacsial Release Practitioner
Certified M2T Blade Practitioner (Instrument Assisted Soft Tissue Mobilization)
Certified Infant Massage Instructor
