Emma Babcock, BSc
Emma (she/her) graduated from Queen’s University with a degree in Kinesiology, and obtained her Certificate of Business Management through the Smith School of Business.
During her undergrad, Emma gained knowledge on injury care and prevention, including athletic taping techniques, wrapping and slinging. She volunteered with Revved Up Exercise Program, where she assisted in the delivery of adapted exercise programs for individuals with mobility impairments and developmental disabilities. Her central area of research focused on muscle biogenesis as it relates to nutrition physiology.
Emma was a nationally competitive powerlifter with the CPU/IPF for 4 years, in which time she collected 2 gold and 3 silver medals in her weight class, and was awarded Best Overall Junior Female Lifter at the 2017 College Capital Classic and 2017 Ottawa Open.
Emma is a radical advocate of body neutrality, acceptance, and anti-diet culture rhetoric. She adopts and preaches Health at Every Size (HAES) and Intuitive Eating principles, and is currently working toward becoming a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor.
In her free time, Emma is a singer/songwriter and musical theater performer. She loves CrossFit, craft beer, and Animal Crossing.
