Kara Messenger, MScPT

Kara (she/her) graduated from Western University in 2012 with an Honors Bachelor of Medical Sciences degree and then continued her education at Queens University, graduating in 2016 with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy.

After graduating, Kara started practising in private clinics treating a variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and conditions and providing post-op rehabilitation. She also has experience working in acute care hospital settings, outpatient clinics, and paediatric homecare. Kara has continued her education by completing courses in Soft Tissue Release, Acupuncture, and K-Taping.

After working for a few years, Kara started to develop an interest in women’s health and decided to complete the Pelvic Floor Levels 1-3 certification. This provided her with the skills to start assessing and treating women and men with urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and pelvic pain. Once she started practising pelvic health physiotherapy, her passion for it grew as she saw how the proper education and treatment could have such a positive impact on someone’s quality of life. Kara has continued her pelvic health education and completed courses in Pregnancy & Pelvic Girdle Pain, Diastasis Rectus Abdominis, Cesarean Birth, Bowel Pathology & Function, Electrical Stimulation for Pelvic Health, and Pelvic Health Care for Trans & Gender Diverse People.

Kara enjoys having a mixed caseload so whether you’re coming in for something musculoskeletal or pelvic health related, she is happy to help!

In her spare time, Kara enjoys spending time outdoors with her very active Australian Shepherd, strength training, travelling, being on the lake in the summer (swimming, boating, SUP, kayaking), and spending time with family and friends.
