Maddy Coathup
Maddy (she/her) is a recent graduate of McMaster University with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. During Maddy’s time at McMaster she played 4 years of Varsity Women's Rugby where she was named Co-Captain in her final year and led her team to a third place finish in the OUA. Maddy has had a lot of exposure to high level coaching in the field of athletics throughout her years of competing as an athlete. Maddy’s passion for strength and conditioning continued to grow as her off-season training in the gym was a crucial component to her success within sport.
Recently, Maddy has joined the Health in Focus Strength Team where she has been providing sport specific training and programming for a range of athletes in the local Kingston area. She has a key role with Kingston United OPDL’s soccer teams as a Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Maddy has a long term goal of becoming a Physiotherapist and she looks forward to incorporating her coaching knowledge into her future practice. Maddy is extremely passionate about helping individuals reach their greatest potential through strength training. Maddy has a wide variety of coaching talents that include specializing in sport specific training, functional strength and injury prevention, mobility sessions, speed/agility/quickness (SAQ) training, and basic Olympic lifting techniques.
