Maura Leslie, MScPT
Maura (she/her) has been registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario since 2019. She graduated from Queen’s University with her Master’s of Science in Physiotherapy, following the completion of her Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at McMaster University.
Maura takes great pride in her ability to help people recover and optimize their health. She has worked with clients in a wide range of life stages and lifestyles through her experience in private practice orthopedic physiotherapy clinics, hospital physiotherapy, and public practice physiotherapy. Maura also has post-graduate training in the assessment, treatment, and management of running-related injuries, lower body mobilization with movement, and pelvic floor dysfunction and disorders.
Maura centres her treatment around the fact that movement is medicine, and enjoys nothing more than helping people prioritize movement in their life. Through her three year internship with McMaster Strength and Conditioning - where she was lead intern for the Varsity Women’s soccer team and head strength coach for the Women’s Hockey team, Maura gained experience coaching and correcting movement and working with youth athletes and CFL athletes.
Maura has also worked in multiple physiotherapy settings including acute care medicine in hospital, outpatient spinal cord and neurological rehabilitation, and outpatient spinal cord rehabilitation.
Along with promoting movement as medicine through physiotherapy services, Maura aims to embody this in her everyday life. She grew up playing competitive soccer and basketball, and has transitioned into becoming an avid runner and cyclist. When Maura is not at the clinic you can usually find her running, cycling, hiking, strength training or camping.
