Stephanie Alp, MHSc RD, IOC Dip. Sport Nutr.
Stephanie (she/her) has been working as a Registered Dietitian since 2015. Her passion for eating well for a healthy lifestyle and nutrition to support athletics and physical activity has brought her to the Health in Focus team. She believes in developing individualized approaches to nutrition and fostering behaviour changes for sustained health and wellness.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and a Master’s Degree in Nutrition Communication and has a strong focus on helping to communicate nutrition concepts for a variety of audiences. Her passion for sport led her to complete the International Olympic Committee Diploma in Sports Nutrition and the ISAK level 1 course for completing hands-on body composition assessments. She continues to learn and stay up to date on nutrition for sport as she finds many of these concepts applicable for everyday life.
Stephanie’s involvement in a variety of sports solidifies her understanding of how nutrition can support optimal health, wellness, recovery, and athletic performance. Her background includes cross-country running, sailing, varsity swimming, marathons, and triathlon.
In her free time, she loves to play ultimate, run, cycle, and lift weights. If she’s not doing those activities, you can usually find her doing some sort of other outdoor activity, all year round! All of this activity does not stop her from cooking and baking up a storm.
She is excited to be a part of the Health in Focus team and to bring her skills to the Kingston Community!
